Janet Falk

Flying Pig and Felted Bunny

Guest artist at Good Hope Island

Jan is an artist, teacher, and lifelong learner. She has been wet felting for about 10 years, mostly doing nuno felting and recycling silk prints. About 2 years ago, she made silk and wool animal pelt shapes for a major work. The symbolism was innovative and gave the piece layers of meaning. Lately, she’s gathered leaves and is making botanical contact prints. Being able to leave an imprint of something that was once living, making the impermanent permanent, connects Jan with the earth and the amazing shapes and dyes extracted from botanical forms, worth a lifetime of experimentation. She continues exploring and connecting nature forms with people.
