Melissa Muller

Guest artist at 13) The Bezert

Milwaukee-based artist, director, curator, and community organizer. Melissa Muller has a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois. As an Artist and Community Arts Project Manager, her goal is connectivity. Using her skills and resources she brings projects together to benefit neighborhoods and communities.

When she's not working with artists in the community or working in development, she is the creator of functional and not-so-functional ceramic art in stoneware. Traditional forms for utilitarian use become art objects. Her designs are clean, simple, and meant to be used hard, weathered daily, for the users’ routine rituals. Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics appeal to her for their sense of resourcefulness. Grounded in utility.
