Guest Artist at 3) Rustbelt Fiberwerks

Jon Walton graduated from Southern Methodist University (1972 – History & English), graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography (1975 - Photographic Illustration) and performed large format camera portrait and still life studio photography in Chicago until 1977. He’s been a Wisconsin based fine art photographer for the last 45 years. His work involves the photography of nature in its prime captured with both large format 8x 10 inch and digital cameras. Collections include Flora @f/64 and Harvest @ f/64, both of which are botanic studio portraits accomplished with an 8x10 camera and up to 8 lights. Other Nature is a collection of landscape, fauna and environmental subjects. Other Worldly is an abstract collection of flora transformed through digital processes based on a theory of “what a bee sees”. Images are presented as limited editioned archival prints on cotton rag paper, fine art canvas and dye infused aluminum. Jon’s goal is to create portraits of the natural world that give a new perspective on the familiar, making the commonplace marvelous. Images come in sizes from 5x5 inches up to 5x10 feet.
